NOTICE:

This procedure includes the removal of small-head bolts. Refer to Small-Head Bolts of Basic Repair Hint to identify the small-head bolts.

PROCEDURE

1. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY

2. DRAIN ENGINE OIL

3. REMOVE OIL PAN SUB-ASSEMBLY

Click here

4. REMOVE ENGINE OIL LEVEL SENSOR

(1) Disconnect the engine oil level sensor connector.

(2) Remove the clip from the engine oil level sensor.

(3) Using an 8 mm socket wrench, remove the 2 bolts and engine oil level sensor from the stiffening crankcase assembly.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE 1. INSPECT CAM TIMING OIL CONTROL SOLENOID ASSEMBLY (a) Check the resistance. (1) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below. Standard Resistance: Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition 1 - 2 0 °C (32 °F)
