PROCEDURE

1. REMOVE DIFFERENTIAL SIDE GEAR SHAFT SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

2. REMOVE DIFFERENTIAL SIDE GEAR SHAFT SUB-ASSEMBLY RH

(a) Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

3. REMOVE DIFFERENTIAL SIDE GEAR SHAFT LH TYPE T OIL SEAL

(a) Using SST, remove the differential side gear shaft LH type T oil seal from the rear traction motor with transaxle assembly.

SST: 09308-00010

NOTICE:

When removing the differential side gear shaft LH type T oil seal, make sure not to damage the rear traction motor with transaxle assembly.

4. REMOVE DIFFERENTIAL SIDE GEAR SHAFT RH TYPE T OIL SEAL

(a) Using SST, remove the differential side gear shaft RH type T oil seal from the rear traction motor with transaxle assembly.

SST: 09612-30012

NOTICE:

When removing the differential side gear shaft RH type T oil seal, make sure not to damage the rear traction motor with transaxle assembly.

5. INSTALL DIFFERENTIAL SIDE GEAR SHAFT LH TYPE T OIL SEAL

(a) Using SST and a hammer, install a new differential side gear shaft LH type T oil seal to the rear traction motor with transaxle assembly.

SST: 09223-00010

Standard Depth:

-0.5 to 0.5 mm (-0.0197 to 0.0197 in.)

NOTICE:

  • Do not install the differential side gear shaft LH type T oil seal at an angle.
  • Do not damage the differential side gear shaft LH type T oil seal.

(b) Coat the lip of the differential side gear shaft LH type T oil seal with a small amount of MP grease.

6. INSTALL DIFFERENTIAL SIDE GEAR SHAFT RH TYPE T OIL SEAL

(a) Using SST and a hammer, install a new differential side gear shaft RH type T oil seal to the rear traction motor with transaxle assembly.

SST: 09223-00010

Standard Depth:

-0.5 to 0.5 mm (-0.0197 to 0.0197 in.)

NOTICE:

  • Do not install the differential side gear shaft RH type T oil seal at an angle.
  • Do not damage the differential side gear shaft RH type T oil seal.

(b) Coat the lip of the differential side gear shaft RH type T oil seal with a small amount of MP grease.
