(a) Select "Check Mode" and proceed with checking using the GTS.

NOTICE:
Select Check Mode on the GTS to clear the DTCs (both current and history).
HINT:
- DTCs can be detected more sensitively in check mode than in normal diagnosis mode.
- Perform check mode inspection when DTCs were not output through normal diagnosis mode inspection regardless of whether a malfunction in a squib circuit is suspected.

1. INSPECT SHIFT STROKE SENSOR
(a) Connect 3 new dry-cell batteries (1.5 V each) in series.
(b) Prepare a magnet or equivalent tool.
(c) Connect a positive (+) lead from the batteries to terminal 2 (VDD) and a
negative (-) lead to terminal 3 (GND).
